How to Die Happy

In life, love on May 13, 2014 at 3:58 pm

I recently posted on how to die alone, a parody, so I thought I might offer the other side.

Here are 5 ways to die happy:

Love Much

Stop being a dick. Stop being an ass.

Start loving. Give to people who are good to you and make you feel happy. Surround yourself with people who make your life better.

Love, love, and when in doubt, love more. Make the people in your life feel loved so that way when it’s your time to go, you go letting them know how much they meant.

Screw Money

Money can’t buy happiness or love.

It can’t make up for parental neglect. Marital neglect.

Don’t worry so much about your bank account as long as you can eat. More money means more crap. Worry about the people in your life.

No Regrets

Try everything you’ve ever wanted to once–unless it’s suicide– and never regret. Don’t turn away from something or someone that may bring you joy unless it’s unhealthy joy.

Live life to the fullest. Don’t regret. You don’t want to be on your way out wishing and thinking, “shoulda, woulda, coulda.”

Forgive

Not forgiving just means your anger will bind you to misery. Forgive and move on. Your life is waiting. Die without anger inside of you.

Open Your Mind

Travel, become friends with someone you never thought you’d befriend. Talk to strangers. Just don’t eat their candy.

Open your mind to the possibility that something new can come for you. Encourage happiness. Don’t hold back.

Not as wise as Buddha and certainly skinnier,

Laura
