People ask me how my ex and I survive doing things together for the sake of our daughter.

Here’s my response–and my first article as a contributor for PopSugar Moms!

  1. Hi Laura,

    Congratulations on the writing gig!

I just read your article and I loved it. Every post separation / divorce “family event” you’re able to smilingly pull off is an emotional gift for your daughter. That’s Priceless !

I’ve been a divorced father for nearly three years. We also did the trick or treat and pumpkin patch things as a family…. And yes, people often ask… Are you getting back together? I expect that… After all, it’s a bit unusual to see a divorced couple “acting” like a family. But regardless, you’re still Family.. Redefined? Yes… Nontraditional? Yes.. Divorced Yep… But Family because you are forever connected through your daughter.

Keep it up… It usually gets easier and your daughter will be so proud of both of you
