How to Be in The Moment Romantically & Sexually

Overthinking and pushing can take you out of the moment when you’re with your partner, whether it’s a sexual or romantic moment.

Looking too hard into the future or overanalyzing things can take away from the pure joy and fun that romance and sex brings.

Here are 3 ways to avoid overthinking and help yourself stay in the moment in the bedroom or wherever you are, with your love interest:

Focus on the event

Don’t start running through a list of potential issues or thinking what if?

Instead, focus on the feelings:

  • What things do you feel, physically?
  • What things do you feel emotionally?
  • What do you see?
  • What can you smell or taste?
  • What do you hear?

Be in the present! Focus on these joyful sensations and if perhaps, you are feeling anxious, acknowledge it like “I feel anxious right now, but it’s passing.” Try to envision it like a train passing through a town… pass through those anxious feelings and avoid projecting into the future.

Appreciate the time

Nothing is constant. Everything changes. Appreciate the beautiful moments you have with someone as we are never guaranteed that we will have the time with someone again.

Allow yourself to have fun

Some people can’t even loosen up and allow themselves to enjoy time with someone.

Give yourself permission to indulge and relax.

Tell yourself you deserve this love, romance, sex or whatever it is.

Truly embrace the fact that you deserve to be loved and have pleasure.

Take a Chance,

Laura
